Downs were brilliant, we will be back next time we need a carpet. We got three new carpets all supplied and fitted by Downs. When the sitting room carpet turned out to be supplied too short (a manufacturer's fault) they sorted out the problem in 2 days. Simon was also very patient when we kept having to delay the fitting date due to various headaches with the bedroom renovation. Thank you to Simon for all his help and patience during the delayed building work.

Cannot fault Downs or their fitters.Special thanks to Simon who has been our contact. We've had all bar one our whole bungalow brought and fitted through Downs.Price is reasonable, lots of range and no sales pitch. Very knowledgeable too.Thank you.

I searched for a specific 80/20 wool carpet on a different colour than my original and found it was made by Adams carpets which then directed you to local dealers which were John Lewis, camps and Downs. I got quotes from all 3 and found Downs the most competitive even though Camps said they would match price. When I phoned Downs they were the most helpful from beginning to end. They went above and beyond and every single member I spoke to were kind, courteous, professional and the whole thing went smoothly and efficiently from the word go. I would highly recommend them. They will do everything for you like moving furniture, lifting and removing carpet and putting furniture back if you want it. If you want to save money on certain things like keeping original underlay, dividers, grippers, no problem. I would definitely use them again. Absolutely 5🌟 Thank you so much 😀

I have just been to Downs Carpets and did not know they had moved address. I spoke to Adrian, who was so helpful and knowledgeable and I got a great deal, with half price underlay! I would highly recommend a visit :)

I bought an end of roll for my outside summer house/art studio, there was quite a few to choose from, I would have been lost if it wasn’t for the very nice guy who helped me, his knowledge of sizing was brilliant . All the staff were very nice and friendly. I didn’t even know Downs still existed, it does and I would definitely go there again, hambridge road in by Halfords.

We went to Downs newbury to look at the options for flooring in a new flat. We were greeted by Carl who was extremely helpful, friendly and very knowledgable about our flooring situation. We did not purchase anything on the day however we did leave the shop feeling greatly assisted and with a better idea of what we wanted. Carl was the highlight of the trip. :)

Highly recommend. The quality of flooring is superb, as with the choices to suit all budgets. Provided advice, upfront about costs (which is important) and provided alternatives and suggestions that allowed me to make an informed decision. Fitters were brilliant, turned up on time and completed an excellent job. Overall service was great from beginning to end!

Whenever we need a carpet, Downs Carpets of Newbury has always been our first choice. We have used them three times in the last year and have always dealt with Adrian Pitwell, very friendly and fantastic service from him. On our last occasion on having our stairs done Barry Bedlam had to come and double check measurements. I found him to be extremely rude and obviously intimidated by a woman decorator. Telling me I had left it far too late to touch up some areas before carpet fitting, and tutting. Quite frankly this is none of his concern. Overall, it lets the company down as I know we need more carpet in the future and I am now releuctant to go to Downs in case we have to deal with him.The fitter, whose name I didn't catch was very friendly and got on with it and did an absolutely smashing job. Thank you.
